The Warren Estate Marrickville epitomised colonial existence alongside a river. Come join us for a summer’s morning walk to survey the success of communities to ‘rewild’ an urban landscape. We will stop briefly to look at the ecologies of brick pits turned into ponds, engineered salt marshes, worksites to establish native flora and canal walls sculptured to attract invertebrates. Spot an ibis joining a Royal Spoonbill for a feed. The walk will commence at 9.30am Tempe station and finish at Dulwich Hill station with a stop for an optional coffee.

The coastline from Minnamurra down to Kiama is absolutely stunning with numerous beaches, headlands and places of beauty to explore including the rugged Bombo headland.
Expect as least 3 swimming stops along the way! Last occasion I did this walk it was rainy so we didn't swim, so I hope to make up for it this time! So bring along your cossies and a sense of fun as we trundle on down along the littoral way! Sunblock and a decent hat needed. Location: South Coast Map: Kiama 9028-1S

Door prizes to win. NPA Xmas party followed by a walk. It's the time of the year walkers of all abilities get together. Over the years, some of us have walked faster and harder than ever. Some of us have slowed down. It is an opportunity for us to catch up with old friends and make new friends. We have been shunned by Covid restrictions in the last couple of years. 2022 has no restriction. We will still keep a safe distance though. Bring your lunch and something to share. Memorial Park is a 9 minutes walk from Meadowbank Station. If you wish to walk with others, meet at the station at 11 am. Lunch starts at 11:45 but it is nice to arrive early to mingle and hold the shelters for our party.
