Leader: Philip WrightOatley Park is not the usual suburban park. It is full of surprises. We'll start from Oatley train station. Walk along Mulga Road to Oatley Park. Have morning tea at The Castle. Walk down to the Jewfish Bay walk skirting Lime Kiln Head all the way to Lime Kiln Bay. Cross the bridge to the wooden boardwalk at the mangrove to The Wetlands. Climb to Oatley Bush Playground to Webster Lookout and walked back to Jewfish bay before walking back to Mortdale station. We might see Orchids and wetlands inhabitants. The locals swear by the coffee shop at the station. We meet at the coffee shop. Come early if you want to join me for a cup of coffee. After walk, there are options for lunch at Mortdale. Find out why this part of the Gardens of Stone SCA must be better protected for the future generations.
Park at GR 398 038. Descend into Gang Gang Canyon and walk all the way through to Gang Gang Tunnels, visiting the cave at about GR 309 400, as well as the cave at GR 405 043. After exploring the Gang Gang Tunnels, turn south and walk to the falls at GR 407 045, whilst inspecting the caves along the way. Continue south to visit Lots Wife and the adjacent cave. Find a way out to the western side and re-connect with the cars. About 6km. All off-track, some rock scrambling and exposure. Location: Newnes State Forest Map: Cullen Bullen 89313N View |

Circle Hyde Park and pause at the 2015 Yininmadyemi – Thou didst let fall. Morning Tea at Sandringham Gardens, gates unlocked by the Queen 1954. Lunch in the Botanic Garden. Along the way view Australia’s first monument - Governor Bourke unveiled 1842 and Arthur Phillip 1897. Water available and dropout points. Flat walk. This is a combined NPA and Ramblers walk.

Dalpura Canyon is a short but very spectacular and relatively easy canyon set deep within the Blue Mountains National Park. There is 1 abseil but its possible to scramble around it and no compulsory swimming but you'll probably get wet under normal conditions, up to your chest. This course is focused on the safety of the first aider and extended care of an ill or injured casualty where help is likely to be delayed or inaccessible. The Harbour to Hawkesbury track (59km) is a well-marked route from Manly to Berowra Waters, traversing Garigal, Ku-ring-gai Chase and Berowra Valley National Parks through a variety of terrain. The next instalment of our Wollangambe exploration.
Limited numbers. Park on Danes Way, Mount Wilson and walk/scramble down to the exit of Wollangambe 5 at around GR 628 924. Walk/swim/boulder/scramble down the gorge for as long as the time and energy allow. Find an exit (a number of potential spots have been identified) and re-connect with the vehicles. Bring helmet (mandatory) and dry bags. Wet suit strongly recommended. Lilo optional. Must be able to swim well. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure. About 10 km. This is a beautiful area that the Club has not visited for quite some time. Easy circuit visiting many huts and some optional hills/mountains.
Day 1: After arranging placement of car at walk finish, we walk from Pretty Valley Pondage to Tawonga Hut: 4.5km plus optional side trip to Mt Jaithmathang - excellent views.
Day 2:Tawonga Hut to Ryders Yards Hut via aqueduct 6km + optional side trips to Mt Jim, Young Hut, High Plains Ck falls.
Day 3: Ryders Yards hut to Fitzgerald Hut via Cope Saddle hut, Cope Hut, Wallace Hut. 16km but flat.
Day 4:either stay at Fitzgerald hut or do several side trips including Johnston Hut, Mt Nelse & Nelse north, Edmundson Hut, Spion Kopje summit, Kelly Hut, perhaps Ropers Hut.
Day 5: exit via Heathy spur and back to cars, 7.5km
Interested people must contact leader regarding important travel issues. All participants must be up-to-date with vaccinations (at least 3 jabs) / no medical exemptions allowed.
