A steep climb to start, up Mt Durras, then walk across to Pebbly Beach (partly on the road) and stop for lunch. On the way back explore the new track along the coast back to Pretty. Some uphill and down, along rock platforms, up and down constructed steps, short section on the Pebbly Road. The walk is long but pace will be steady with plenty of time to enjoy the coast on the way back. Whole day walk. Should be back at cars around 4:30 pm. We walk through Gore Hill to follow Gore Creek through the beautiful Lane Cove Bushland Park to lovely vistas of the Lane Cove River and then onto the Greenwich Ferry Wharf. From there we walk around Gore Cove to Berry Island Reserve. Thence to Waverton Station for the train home. Booking essential with your NPA, phone and emergency contact numbers (unless I already have them). Some street walking, creek crossings and a tunnel under River Road, so bring a torch. (Fully Booked) The walk follows the Budderoo Fire Trail for 6kms to a locked gate on the right. Through the gate is a relatively unused fire trail which deteriorates to a single track leading to Gerringong Creek. Follow the creek along to the falls.

The second of the 3P challenge is more gentle then the first, and offers views across the northern end of the Gross Valley. Starting at Pierces pass, we follow the walking track through dense vegetation past Fairy Grotto, continuing down until we reach the river crossing. From here it’s a fairly open track beside the gorgeous Grose river to Blue Gum Forest. Return via the same route. Mountain Devils are flowering and the bush on this descent is simply delightful. This is a great walk on tracks that themselves have been declared "World Heritage", because of their convict origins. We walk up Devines Hill on the well preserved Old Great North Road and then return via Finches Line, with its spectacular views over the Hawkesbury River and Wisemans Ferry. Though a solid climb, it is quite pleasant with the current cooler temperatures. Leader will arrange car-pooling. It is essential to book giving your NPA, mobile emergency contact numbers and whether you are driving or a passenger, please. There are roadworks on the road at the bottom due to landslides and slumping. The descent on Finches line is fairly steep and rough. Some road walking. Starting from Blackheath Station via Blackheath Botanical Gardens to the start of the Burramoko Fire Trail. Follow the trail to Baltzer Lookout for great views of valley and cliffs. Cliff edge track down to Hanging Rock. May explore area near rock. Lunch at lookout. Return via same route. Burramoko Lookout is within NSW declared wilderness area, number in group limited to eight.
