Ocean or bay views most of the day.  Lots of ups and downs.  Steps.  Mostly well formed sealed paths.   There are rock pools and netted baths along the way, some not very far into the walk.  There would be options to have morning tea with the group, start the walk with us and break off at one of the pools to swim and make one’s own way back to the train station. Some unsealed tracks which could be muddy following rain. Quiet street walking. Walking poles may assist. Shared pathways.

This is a great opportunity for the National Parks Association community to come together and celebrate. Meet the NPA Executive, State Council, staff, other members and supporters. Learn more about our current activities, programs and conservation work while enjoying a three course meal.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longThe annual Koscie walk, this time with a bit of new country to explore.  We camp near Daveys Hut, Kidmans Hut, Mawsons Hut (2 nights), Valentines Hut, and Whites River Hut.   We have a spare day to do an optional side trip from Mawsons Hut. Days 2-4 are off track and may be a bit rough but it will an awesome walk with the usual lovely Koscie bush and scenery! Be prepared to start the walk a little later if weather conditions are poor.

This walk takes you the length of the Hunters Hill peninsula, from the Lane Cove River side, past historic sandstone houses, across the ridge through the heritage-listed Kelly’s bush to the Parramatta River shoreline, and finally around the former Woolwich Dry Dock, finishing at Valencia st wharf, Woolwich. Bush tracks, steps and streets. Hazards: tracks slippery when wet, steps, busy road crossing

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longFully Vaccinated | All participants must be able to show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to particpate.(Fully Booked) This walk follows the track through forest, along creeks and beneath the M5 Motorway.  The Nattai River and Gibbergunyah Creek are crossed on the way. There are views and waterfalls along the route. The track itself is slippery in places.  It is listed as a grade 4 but some parts are grade 5.  There is one very steep gully to cross and a couple of creeks. Hazards:  Rough track, steep steps, slippery rocks and 4 creek crossing

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPark at GR 680 930 on Mount Tootie Road and traverse west, then north to spot height 673 m. Check the gullies to the south and north, then descend into a gully at around GR 670 942. Follow it to the cliff line above Bowens Creek, then traverse southwards as long as the time allows. Exit and walk cross-country back to the vehicles. About 10 km. Scrambling and exposure. Exploratory.

Afterwards we will walk to Balmain Wharf or Balmain East Wharf to catch a ferry to either Circular Quay or Barangaroo. Steps, slippery surfaces.

Do you like great coastal cliff views?,  Do you like an easy track? Do you like flannel flowers? Do you like swimming opportunities? Do you like the beach? Do you like to take spectacular photo’s? Well this is the walk for you. Easy walking grade with time to take pics and smell the flannel flowers. Swimming opportunities abound.  18kms so some level of fitness required.  We will pass the new whale watching platform, Cape Baily lighthouse and Boat Harbour.  I’ve looked at the forecast and the weather will be perfect for this walk so grab the sunscreen, hat, camera and join us.
