To celebrate the completion of The Harbour to Hawkesbury series of walk, we'll do a celebration walk from Cowan to Brooklyn, followed by the classic Fish and Chips. This is a very popular walk. The highlight of the whole walk is the incredibly picturesque Jerusalem Bay, which makes a great spot for a mid walk swim. At this time of the year, it is a wildflowers lover's paradise... Boronia, Grevillea, Tea Tree, Rice flowers, Pea flowers, just to name a few. Some rock scrambling and steep sections. Limit: 12. View |

Stunning scenes including pristine beaches, remnant rain forest and spectacular cliffs with steep headlands, followed by a gentle forest amble along the shoreline of Durras Lake and its nature trail. The swell on the day will define how far we can travel along the rocky shoreline, but we will anyway have to pay close attention to the prevailing local conditions as we scramble over sometimes slippery boulders and possibly up a steepish cliff section. From sea level below Clive Park, Northbridge the route reaches sea level again at Tunks Park; it follows Flat Rock creek up to Naremburn and crosses the watershed at St Leonards, descending once again to sea level at Gore Cove Reserve, Wollstonecraft. (Updated Details) Meet leader at Lawson station. Walk on streets to Lawson Park. Walking on part of Bruce's walk through Dante Glen to Kent St fire trail. The fire trail continues as a walking track to the start of a ridge that leads to the Blue Mountain creek. Following down stream with multiple creek crossings and getting wet feet. A creek from Amphitheatre Falls meets Blue Mountain at a canyon waterfall. Pause for lunch here. Exit to Blue Mountain trail from creek has steep and challenging sections. Return via existing tracks to start at North Lawson Park. Depending on time return walk may include Empire pass and falls along that track.

(Fully Booked) Bell Canyon is a not a canyon regularly visited due to the difficulty getting to it. Never the less it is a superb canyon with some of the best A grade sustained canyon in the Blue Mountains. There are long narrow dark swim-throughs of up to 200 meters as well as awkward jumps and the use tape to scramble into the canyon. A scenic and relaxed pace ride on cycle paths and cycle routes around the foreshore. Passing through historical properties, then cross over on the punt. Return to the start over John Whitton Bridge. (Cancelled) The Harbour to Hawkesbury track (59km) is a well-marked route from Manly to Berowra Waters, traversing Garigal, Ku-ring-gai Chase and Berowra Valley National Parks through a variety of terrain. Section 5 is Cowan to Brooklyn. Generally considered a challenging route, it is a popular trail for camping, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. In 2023, Thirlmere village will once again awaken to the enchanting sound of the steam whistle for the annual Thirlmere Festival of Steam.From newly restored steam Locomotive 3001 and Legend of Steam Locomotive 3801 to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest operating steam locomotive Beyer-Garratt 6029, visitors will be spoilt for choice with the biggest display of historic NSW railway steam engines at this year’s Thirlmere Festival of Steam. All locomotives listed will either feature on display in steam or operate one of the many steam train rides throughout the weekend along the historic Loop Line.
Their will also be a range of smaller steam traction engines in and around the NSW Rail Museum .

We will walk along the beach and tracks to Jibbon Head, visiting the Aboriginal engravings on the way. We will then mostly walk along the rock platform towards the Balconies, where we join the coastal track back to Bundeena. There is a steep climb from the last beach up to the headland along an eroded track that requires a bit of a scramble. Spectacular coastal views and coastal heath bushland.
