I am leading a pack walk from Hornsby to Crosslands. This is detailed in a separate posting. We will join the NPA annual Christmas party lunch. Then we camp for the night. This is a good opportunity for you to join us at camp, if you prefer to car camp rather than pack walk. I have a couple of available spots in my booking. Contact me if you wish to join my booking. You can also make your own booking. The whole month of December is available for booking. You can book to stay more than one night. Book on line: https://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/lifestyle/sports-and-recreation/parks-and-playgrounds/crosslands-reserve or contact Council on 9847 6666. Steep and slippery sections. This would be very good as the first walk for those wishing to try out pack walking. From Hornsby Station a few streets and link up with Great North Walk. Head to Crosslands reserve (approx. 18 km, mostly downhill and relatively easy with one tricky creek crossing). We join NPA annual Christmas Party at lunch time. Then we camp at Crosslands: beautiful spot with water and toilets. Walk out next day to Berowra Station (6 km). Slippery sections. Location: Berowra Valley NP Map: Hawkesbury Limit: 15. View |

We walkers will probably just carry what we are able to eat with those who are arriving by car. Steep and slippery sections Location: Berowra Valley NP Map: Mount Kuring-gai View |
14 Dec, Sat 11:55AM | NPA Annual Xmas party at Crosslands Reserve
Southern Sydney Branch
Brian E. | |||||
I have led walks for 42 years. Gee, I miss friends who have either moved on or ceased walking. I am sure other experienced leaders would feel the same. How about we have a Xmas party so that we can catch up with past, present and future friends? Gather at Crosslands Reserve for a wonderful time.
Don't worry about your waistline. A few leaders would put on walks of various lengths and difficulties before and after the feast. Examples are as below:
1. Walk from Cowan to Crosslands Reserve
2. Walk from Mt. Kuring-gai Station
3. Walk from Crosslands Reserve to Berowra Station
4. Walk from Crosslands Reserve to Mt. Kuring-gai Station
5. Pack Walk from Hornsby and camp at Crosslands
6. Car camp at Crosslands
Or you can simply drive to the Reserve. The picnic is self-catered. Bring a plate to share. You can choose to make a note donation instead of bringing a plate. You can do both as money raised will go to NPA. Please mention if you will be bringing a plate as we don't want to end up with just Money but no food. Location: Berowra Valley NP View |
