Never heard of Dangar Island? Join us for a tour to this idyllic island just a hop, skip and a jump from Hawkesbury River Station, Brooklyn. Upon arrival on this car-free oasis of bush, beach and tranquillity, we will be welcomed by tree-lined palms and jacarandas. On the lower grounds we'll walk past the Bowling Club and Bradleys Beach. On the higher grounds we'll get great views of the Hawkesbury River. We'll also walk past a Blackbutt – Rough-barked Apple Forest. Enjoy the scenic train ride across the Hawkesbury River and a joy ferry ride to the island. Enjoy lunch or Devonshire tea at Dangar Island Depot before taking the ferry back home. Bring money for ferry ($8.50 one way adult, $4.30 one way concession (not sure seniors are considered concession)). View

This is an extra day walk to follow the last leg of the Parramatta to Shoalhavens series. As we are staying overnight on Saturday 30th  October to walk the Seven Miles Beach, we will stay another night to do another day of two short walks: The Drawing Room Rocks near Berry and Bomaderry Creek near Nowra. Great views of the NSW south coast. Looking out over Berry, 7 mile beach and Jervis Bay & on a clear day can see pigeon house mountain & the lighthouse at point perpendicular. Travelling by fast train and then a bus, we reach the Princess Marina Track to the beautiful Kellys Falls, set in bushland that is noticeably different to that around Sydney or the Blue Mountains. From here we walk around and see some of the wonderful views over the coast from Stanwell Tops before descending 150 metres down the escarpment to Stanwell Park Station for the journey home. Most of the walk is fairly flat except for the descent to Stanwell Park. Uneven and possibly slippery track surfaces, a steep descent and creek crossings.

Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure. About 6 km.

On the 4 opera days, we'll do shorter and river walks (grade 2). On the non-opera days, we'll do more adventurous day walks on the coast or the Scenic Rim (grade 3-4).Itinerary is to be decided closer to the date. You will need to 1. Book your own Ring Cycle tickets, from $380 to $2200 2. Fly and hire a car in Brisbane, or drive from Sydney 3. Book own accommodation from 5/11 to 13/11 (8 nights), preferably at a convenient location to the QPAC. Leader will be staying in Fairfield. Possible steep and slippery sections, depending on final itinerary.

This is a fabulous area containing all the pagodas you could wish for. We will explore the Goochs Crater area including the camp cave, gullies, ridge tops and all with great views. Tracks, off-track, steep descent, cliff edges, minor scrambling and creek crossings. Only grade 4 due to the off-track sections.
