Day 1: From Culoul Range Trail, descend to the Colo River. Establish a base camp. Day 2: A recce day to explore a route up through the cliffs on the western side, and beyond for a future trip (around Barakee Pass). Day 3: Walk up Boorai Creek to about GR 737 220 and then climb back to the ridge and the cars. About 20 km total. Great swimming in between walking. Partly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

Starting from Lawson, we walk once during the day so as to familiarise with the route in day light. Then we have a break to have dinner before we walk in the dark to see the Glowworms. Chinese/Lawon Hotel/IGA/Bowling Club/ Petrol Station available at Lawson. You must commit to both day and evening walks before RSVP. Bright headlamp with spare batteries is essential for your safety. If you arrive with no headlamp, you will be turned back. The evening hike will be shortened to ensure we make the last train home from Hazelbrook at 10:35 pm. Steep steps, tree roots, slippery section. Limit: 8. View

Stunning scenes including pristine beaches, remnant rain forest and spectacular cliffs with steep headlands, followed by a gentle forest amble along the shoreline of Durras Lake and its nature trail. The swell on the day will define how far we can travel along the rocky shoreline, but we will anyway have to pay close attention to the prevailing local conditions as we scramble over sometimes slippery boulders. Options for swim if conditions are right.

From the station, walking to Evans Lookout via Braeside Trail. From Evans Lookout follow the Grand Canyon to exit up Neates Glen. Aiming to catch bus to Katoomba for express train back to Sydney. Wet rocks and stairs. Short tunnel has uneven floor. Sometimes you will need to duck your head and crouch where the path goes underneath rock overhangs.

This is a short walk but leads to a beautiful lookout over the coast. The track is steep but is well worth the effort. After returning to the cars, we will take a short drive to Brogers Creek for a bonus short walk to a lovely waterhole so bring along your cossies if you feel like a swim.       Hazards: Rough track, steep sections, unfenced cliffs.

Cycle | A cycling tripAccommodation | An activity that involves an overnight stay, using hard-roofed accommodation such as a cabin, hut or hotel.Those who are seriously considering joining us, will be provided with our itinerary and accommodation bookings, however you will need to make your own accommodation bookings. Numbers are limited! The Central West Cycle (CWCT) Trail is the premier Western New South Wales cycle route with relatively gentle gradients the majority of the way and plenty of resupply points, pubs and small town take away joints. It is suggested that you bring morning and afternoon teas and lunches as there may not be facilities when we stop for breaks. This is an unsupported trip, therefore there will be no support vehicle. Thursday 22 February, arrive in Mudgee, NSW
Friday 23 February, commence CWCT,  Mudgee
Friday 1 March, finish CWCT, Mudgee
Length: 364.19 kms. Route type: circular. This route is a mixture of lovely gravel roads and sealed tarmac. Although gravel might not be every ones cup of tea it makes for nice riding with less traffic.Taking everything you would need for bicycle repairs, including two (2-3) spare tubes is essential for this ride as well as a first aid kit, sun screen, water, helmet.

Occasional uneven ground.

Find out why this area must be protected for future generations. About 8k. All off-track, some rock scrambling and exposure.

Flying Fox accessed by a fire trail has the remains of the flying fox used to bring timber up from the valley.  The walk then returns to the Cooks Nose Lookout, a wonderful lunch spot.  On the edge of the escarpment there are spectacular views. Hazards: Rough track often wet, muddy and slippery, unfenced lookout.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longThis will be a spectacular walk along the clifflines to the east of Genowlan Point in the Mugii Murum Ban SCA, exploring the various nooks and crannies and pagodas along the way and topping it off with views of the Suspended Barbican and a visit to the Ultimate Shute. Expect to be amazed and delighted in an area rarely visited. Rock scrambling and off-track walking.
