Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long60 Best walks | This is one of the NPA's 60 best walks.Photography | A trip that has a strong focus on encouraging people to capture photographs.(Nearly fully booked) When the heat of Summer is upon us, where do we go to escape the heat? The Colo River Gorge of course! On this particular walk we will experience the outstanding beauty of what is essentially the lifeline and heart of the Wollemi wilderness, the stunning Colo River and in particular the section between Tootie Creek and Meroo campsite. Expect long sandbanks, clear, tranquil pools, the exquisite Tootie cascades and lots of peace and quiet with only birdsong and the rivers gentle sounds to keep you company, as well as you're hiking friends of course. I plan to take a flotation device and float along past the scrubby bits and suggest everyone does the same Hazards: offtrack walking along the Colo river with scrambling at times.
