A select group of 12 fellow bushwalkers, travelling with an expert guide staying in eco hotels, lodges and permanent camps expecting to see all the "Big 5" animals in their natural habitat plus many other birds, mammals and reptiles. This tour is being professionally run by Intrepid Travel for us.  Tour starts and finishes in Johannesburg, direct flights from Sydney with Qantas or many other options. Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripWe launch in the crystal-clear waters opposite the river mouth then head upstream to explore deep into two mangrove forests. We will then paddle further upstream to a very civilised table and chairs near Nungarry Rest Area for lunch before heading back.

Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripCross Burroo Bay on Lake Illawarra to enter Macquarie Rivulet and paddle to the weir past mangroves and farmland enjoying abundant birdlife and views of the Illawarra escarpment. Before returning, if conditions are favourable, we will extend the paddle to explore Haywards Bay and Duck Creek.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.This walk came from having walked to the end of two tracks at the end of fire trails, then looking at a map and seeing how close they are with a creek in between. Blue Mountain Creek is joined by following Kent Street fire trail to its end then following the spur down to the confluence of Blue Mountain Creek with the creek from Empire Pass Track. Continuing down the creek with multiple crossing, and wet feet, to the confluence with a creek from Amphitheatre Falls. Explore the canyon and unnamed falls. Exit the creek valley by a series of passes through the sandstone cliff line and up the spur to the end of Blue Mountain track. Track joins North Lawson fire trail and then walk back to Lawson via Empire Pass track. Blue Mountain Creek is lined with lush rain forest and ferns and is seldom visited. No track through this section. Creek crossings and off track sections. Wet and slippery rocks. Rock scrambling.
