This walk takes in some of the most stunning sections of Kangaroo creek downstream of Karloo pools where there is a ton of inviting swimming pools to keep you cool when the Summer sun is beating down. I plan to stop and have a swim in many of these along the way down this pristine watercourse. The walk out of Kangaroo creek is via a shady forested ridge track back to Heathcote station. The walk will use a series of bush tracks from the eastern end of Excelsior Avenue along sections of Darling Mills Creek and its feeder Creeks. Well shaded. Coffee to finish: probably the best option is to hop on a bus on Old Northern Road and go to Castle Towers or The Grove at Baulkham Hills. View

(Updated Details) Well, it's that time of year again when all keen walkers head down to the Kosciuszko National Park to explore, engage with nature and experience the beauty of the region and the superb walks that the high country has to offer. i still have a few places left so if interested please let me know asap. The Alpine flowers should be at their peak at this time of year, and the fresh air is most invigorating! Also, there is a new major track to check out and much, much more. As in previous years, we will stay at Charlottes Pass in a very comfortable abode, The Southern Alps ski lodge, and from this centrally located residence, we will venture out on day walks. This lodge is totally DIY and rooms are twin-share with larger rooms accommodating up to 4 people.i can accommodate a couple of single people but theres a single supplement.Regarding sharing I'll arrange rooms with a woman sharing with another woman and visa versa! Leader: Philip Wright Some members missed out the Fireworks event last year. Philip is again happy to take a group to a not crowded secret spot to see the 9 pm fireworks. If you wish to have dinner before, meet at Canton Cafe at Dixon Street at 6 pm. If you prefer to just go direct to fireworks, meet outside the cafe at 7:30 pm. Bring a drink (not glass) and snacks while we wait for the fireworks. After the fireworks, walk to the light rail or Central to catch train or bus to go home, unless you wish to stay for the midnight Limit: 10. View

When the heat of summer is upon us, where do you head? To a Blue Mountains canyon to cool off and revive body and soul! On this trip we will experience not 1 but 3 canyons with Du Faur Canyon being the main course. The equally spectacular, but much shorter October Creek being the entree, and the Joes Canyon the dessert for what promises to be a superb day swimming, paddling and savouring these amazingly beautiful locations. I can promise you an amazing aquatic time! You'll need a helmet, wetsuit and I recommend a flotation device such as a surfmat, and life jacket as there are some longish swims involved. LEADER: Steve Ringbauer. The flannel flowers are abundant at this time of the year. The 10km Manly Scenic Walkway beings at Manly Wharf, passes sandy beaches, ancient Aboriginal sites and incredible lookouts, before arriving at the Spit Bridge where you can catch a bus to the city. Distance and time: 10km one-way Level: Grade 3 track. Suitable for most ages and fitness levels with occasional sections of stairs. There are also sections of sand, bush tracks and boardwalk. Not suitable for prams or wheelchair users. Top attractions: Clontarf Reserve, Grotto Point Aboriginal engraving site, Crater Cove Lookout, Forty Baskets Reserve and Manly. Toilet facilities at the start and end of the walk and at Clontarf Reserve, Reef Beach, Forty Baskets Beach, North Harbour Reserve and Fairlight Beach. Find out why this part of the Gardens of Stone must be better protected for the future generations. Park one car near the end of FT 2 and another at GR 427 095 on FT 3 off Glowworm Tunnel Road. From the second car, descend the pass at GR 427 092 and explore Edmund Gully and Falls from the bottom. Find a way down into Carne Creek and walk south and then east up a tributary to visit Devils Throat. Exit at GR 427 073, walk to the Altar and then to the parked car. Wet feet and more. This is one of my favourite coastal walks as there are tons of variety along the way, including several superb beaches to swim at, the incredible Cathedral Rocks to admire, and the dramatic Bombo Quarry area with its raging sea and towering rock columns to admire. Visit Adams Lookout before heading down to Bedford Pool. Cross Bedford Creek and explore beyond Lester Pool. Return back to Bedford Pool. Visit Terrace Falls and Victor Falls on the way back to Hazelbrook Station. Creek crossings could involve wading, as stepping stones tend to be slippery at Bedford Pool. Some off track.
