Coffee is available there from the machine.  Stop for morning tea.   Continue to St Ives Showground where Tree Tops is situated, a challenging climbing area for all ages, view other venues and have our packed lunch.  Return to the WFG.  Option to leave the WFG onto Mona Vale Road for a bus to Gordon Station or continue back to Kitchener Street initially on a different WFG route and return via the Management Trail. Plus its not all that far from sydney and accessible by public transport. I'm planning to swim in Glenbrook Creek at least once, along the way. rock scrambling.

Park vehicles on a side road off Waratah Ridge Road at GR 455 010. Follow an old trail south till GR 461 005, then descend a gully to the south to a tributary of Bungleboori. Follow it downstream to Bungleboori. Climb out on a spur at GR 469 994, head north to the trail and then visit the Five Ladies Lookout. If there is time, we will also visit the Midsummer Nights Grotto. Walk back to the vehicles. Wet feet and more. Bring dry bags. Scrambling and exposure. About 7 km.

Join us to celebrate Steve's birthday as well.   A walk in Green Square/Zetland/Waterloo area.  See the multimillion dollars terraces, jungles of apartments as well as the low cost housing. Discover the Drying Green, The Green Square Library( Queen Camilla visited on 22/10/24), The glamorous Waterloo metro station)  The Waterloo Library, The Waterloo Community Garden, various reserves, witness the good work of OzHarvest. See Tony Abbott’s marriage mural. I plan to stop and have a swim in many of these along the way down this pristine watercourse. The walk out of Kangaroo creek is via a shady forested ridge track back to Heathcote station. This whole walk is public transport friendly. some rock hopping

The Bargo River flows into Mermaid Pools and then on through the Tahmoor Gorge. This walk beside the river passes next to the pools and then descend to the gorge and river. Impressive views of the Mermaid Pools and water falls and cascades in the gorge. The track joins the valley floor and crosses the river twice then returns to the cliff edge via Rosies Pass. Return back to cars via views of Mermaid Pools and the Bargo River. A short walk with time for a swim in the river canyon. Hazards include slippery rocks, steep descents, river crossings.

Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripSlow pace | A trip where the leader will set an easy pace.(Leader Changed) Bundanoon Creek offers some spectacular cliff faces.  From Tallowa Dam Picnic area we head NE up Lake Yarrunga (Kangaroo River) for 2.5km then head north into Bundanoon Creek for 4.5km to the head waters. On the return, we will take a short 2km detour up Sandy Creek before heading back to the start. Participants to provide their own craft & are required to wear a correctly fitted PFD. Deep water. Few exit points. Exposed in high winds.

Coffee to finish: probably the best option is to hop on a bus on Old Northern Road and go to Castle Towers or The Grove at Baulkham Hills.

Vehicles with reasonable ground clearance needed for access to the trackheads. Walks are short but rough and if you want to explore to the waters edge need to be agile. Plan is to swim if conditions are good. Also going to drive a short distance up the highway to visit the rock pool off Parma Creek Road.  This activity is dependent on condition of the firetrail access at the time.
