|Our third creek exploration from the mouth to the escarpment, walking on paths, roads and through parkland. Collins Creek has been extensively modified and redirected through the suburb of Woonona, but we can still trace its path through various stages of urban development. Possible overgrown and boggy sections.

|Budderoo Track to Gerringong Falls. The walk follows the Budderoo Fire trail for 6kms to a locked gate on the right. Through the gate is a relatively unused fire trail which deteriorates to a single track leading to Gerringong Creek. Follow the creek along to the falls. Rough track, slippery rocks and unfenced cliff edges.

|For this meeting we will be turning to a classic of environmental writing: A Sand Country Almanac: and Sketches Here and There by Aldo Leopold, first published 1949, there have been various editions published since then including an Ebook. Leopold gives us a charming observation of change over time. His foreword starts - ‘There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot. These essays are the delights and dilemmas of one who cannot’. At our meeting we would like to reflect on Leopold’s writing and consider how we as conservationists accept change over time or should we be trying to direct it? View|

|Through Rushcutters Bay then up the first of many steps to Kings Cross. On to Bears Park, past the Koi Pond and Elizabeth Bay House, through Embarkation Park then on to Circular Quay through the Botanical Gardens. Many steps throughout the day - both up and down. View|
|17 Aug, Fri||Woolpack Gap, Alcatraz and Liberty Gully|
|Numbers are strictly limited. Park at GR 342 178 on Wolgan Road. Walk north west, then north, then north east to enter Woolpack Gap. Next, walk around Woolpack Rock and climb the Watch Tower Spur to the west of it. Follow it north west all the way to about GR 332 204, then walk west to the escarpment and descend into Liberty Gully. Visit Liberty Chamber before proceeding to climb the Alcatraz. From here, use Alcatraz Pass to get back to the cars. Scrambling and exposure.

|Find out why this area, part of the Gardens of Stone region, must be protected for future generations. Leave one vehicle at Airly Mountain and drive to Airly Gap. Climb towards Airly Turret, approaching it from the west, then explore the turret and its slots. Continue east through dissected terrain of pagodas and ravines until we join the road which will take us down to the first car. Scrambling and exposure.

|Neich Road - Fire Trail - Wild Flower Ridge - Kellys Creek Valley - Mini Blue Gum Forest - Neich Road. This should be a very good wild flower walk and there is a nice stand of Blue Gums in Kellys Creek valley. Fire trail, track, off-track with mild scrub, minor scrambling.

|This is Part 1 of a 60 km, four-day walk, circling Sydney Harbour with the Sydney Harbour and Gladesville Bridges as its eastern and western points. This walk is co-led by Geoffrey Lee, Sheila Walker and Esther Chow.
This is a magnificent walk focusing on the Harbour itself – the expanse of water, the bridges, islands, urban bushland and city skyline. The route winds along parts of the foreshore, into bays and on to headlands, through bush, along historic streets and over grand bridges.
Part 1 starts from Circular Quay and finishes at Greenwich Wharf.
Bring water, snacks and lunch. Some slippery sections.

|Led by Herbert Frey & Leslie Reddacliff. Ascend via Kaliana Ridge, follow track west around base and ascend to Castle Saddle. Final climb to top, rope assisted. Traverse to eastern end for views over Byangee for lunch. Agility and a head for heights essential. Return via Meakins Pass.

|The Kangaroo River Fire trail leads from Tallowa Dam Road down to Lake Yarungah. The fire trail winds through forest with beautiful ferns and interesting rock formations to a lovely lunch place on the banks of Lake Yarungah. Return by the same route. Rough fire trail and fallen trees.
