The highlights and sights along the way include Lennox Bridge, The Gatekeepers Cottage, John Whitton Memorial, The Great River walk, Mount Sion Park, Marges Lookout. The Lennox Bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge at Mitchells Pass. It is the oldest stone arch bridge on the Australian mainland.     Steep and slippery sections. Some weeds and grass seeds, so sock protectors may be useful.

The track is sometimes overgrown and difficult to locate. Hazards: Rough track, steep sections, slippery rocks and unfenced cliff edges.

Make our way to its northwestern corner and descend under the first cliff line. Continue south through the spectacular pagoda area known as The Great Wall of China, then locate a ledge (Torbane Balcony) and follow it till GR 221 330. Climb up via a known slot and walk east, returning to Airly Gap via a ridge. About 10 km. Scrambling and exposure.

Descend into a major tributary of Bowens Creek and follow it north to near the junction with Bowens Creek. Climb out towards a cliff line to the south east and follow it until it runs out. Reconnect with the cars via a wonderful lookout platform visited on the last walk to this area. About 6 km. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

Catch the 9.38am 626 Pennant Hills via Cherrybrook bus to our starting destination. The walk will include the Carmen and the Refuge Rock Trails. This will require walking along streets, fire trails and bush tracks. Sections of the tracks could be muddy, slippery and rocky. Leeches could also be encountered. Refuge Rock was used by the Armed Forces for target practice during World War 2.

Joadja Nature reserve was created in 2001.  The management trail meanders through Eucalypt forest to a rocky lookout giving views over creeks and farmland.  Returning to the Wombeyan Caves Rd we cross and walk a little way to another fire trail and lookout towards Wombeyan Caves.  This is a lovely lunch place. Hazards: Rough fire trail and unfenced cliff edges. Limit: 20. View

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longFully Vaccinated | All participants must be able to show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to particpate.(Postponed) (Postponed due to short notice road closure) The walk begins at Meryla Pass in Morton NP.  From the locked gate continue on the Fire Trail along the ridge.  There are several viewpoints which look towards Mt Carrialoo, Crankey's Creek and Lake Yarrunga until reaching the end of the track overlooking Wombat Hill.  On the return there is an optional trail leading to Rebecca's View over Sandy's Creek on the other side of the ridge. Hazards: Rough track and unfenced cliffs. Off track for extension to the trig.

Como Heritage Walk. Learn about Henry Lawson history
Meet at Como Station. Walkers can get there in whatever way suits. The walk follows streets and pops in and out of bushland.  Return is from Como Station or for a longer walk- over the old railway bridge to Oatley Station to catch the train from there. Individual walkers can decide on the day.
Option 1; 5 Km approx. Grade 2.

Day 1: Park at Benjang Gap, GR 300 930. Walk to Lee Creek and then upstream to GR 328 904. Take water for the day (or carry from home). Climb to Lost Chord Crater, continue to Lost Chord Saddle, then climb south west on Tal Tal Ridge to about GR 339 890. Descend into a tributary of Lee Creek at about GR 330 884. Take water for high camp and next morning, climb westwards and camp at around GR 324 885. If time permits, explore high cliffs to the south east (we may even camp there). About 12 km.
Day 2: Spend the morning exploring Lee Castle immediately to the north west, then descend into Lee Creek, take water for the high camp and the next day and climb to Labyrinth Saddle (eastern end) at GR 315 903. Then climb Labyrinth Peak, GR 311 901, to camp. About 6 km.
Day 3: Return to the Labyrinth Saddle. Explore around to the north and north east. If possible, descend into a tributary of Lee Creek at around GR 316 909; otherwise return to the saddle and use a known descent route to the north. Walk back to the cars. About 8 km.
Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

There is a section of off track walking down to Apple Tree Creek and the creek itself has no track. The creek has a small gorge and waterfall. A small boulder field and clear bedrock sections. The return to Mt Kuring-gai is by a track that follows an old water pipe from Apple Tree Bay to the maintained track from Mt Kuring-gai to Cowan Creek. This is a short walk about 4-5 Km with 200 m ascent. A creek to the north of the return track flows to Cowan Creek and crosses the Berowa track. This is the second gorge and more difficult one to walk. Exit to Mt Kuring-gai can be made before this section. Due to closed tracks within the park the second gorge is not available and return from Apple Tree Bay will be Apple Tree Creek or to Mt Colah via maintained tracks. Hazards include slippery surfaces and rocks. Creek crossings.

Cross road and follow  Princess Marina track to Kelly's Falls. Continue along tracks to Bulgo Knoll and end with an off track section to Otford Station.
