Walk south west following the alignment of the former tramway to the transfer station site and the double track skip haulage to the high level tunnel through the south west end of Mount Airly. Climb the incredible pagoda spur to the top of the south west corner of Mount Airly, then traverse eastwards on the top/southern edge of the mountain, full of spectacular cliffs, overhangs and caves. Head north to descend into a rainforest tributary of Gap Creek. Scrambling and exposure. About 8 km.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longSlow pace | A trip where the leader will set an easy pace.The walk begins at Meryla Pass in Morton NP.  From the locked gate continue on the Fire Trail along the ridge.  The first section is a fairly steep fire trail but flattens out and then follows along a track.There are several viewpoints which look towards Mt Carrialoo, Crankey's Creek and Lake Yarrunga until reaching the end of the track overlooking Wombat Hill.  If conditions are suitable we push through on a less defined track to Yarrunga Trig for great views down to the jnct of Yarrunga Creek & Kangaroo R. On the return there is an optional trail leading to Rebecca's View over Sandy's Creek on the other side of the ridge. Hazards: Rough track and unfenced cliffs. Off track for extension to the trig.

On this walk we will descend to the river and follow it along to the Slott Way Track so making this an interesting circuit. By this time of year, the wattle should be starting to bloom, so this could be a colourful walk, too! Steep ascents and descents.

Partly unexplored so will need to be agile. Possible need to swim/float a section. Some cliffs and slippery rocks.

Urban noise disappears as we follow Magdala Creek 4km down to Glenbrook Creek. Here we find tall trees, and patches of rainforest in the deep gullies. As always, there is a climb out of the valley. We return to Springwood Station via Sassafras Gully Rd after a little sidetrip to see the stone cross. No major creek crossings, but there are a number of short shallow ones. We shouldn't have to take our shoes off. Wet rocks may be slippery near creeks. Sand on rocks is also slippery.

There are walkers huts at each campsite and we will travel through the Blue River provincial park for a large section of the walk. Almost all of the flora and fauna is endemic to the island which makes this walk very special.

The walk starts at the rose garden in Roxbrough  Park Road.   There is some street walking to reach Crestwood Reserve. There are shared walk/cycle ways through the reserve . The walk continues as far as Seven Hills Road and the leads back through Tory Burn Reserve to Windsor Road and back to the Rose Garden.   The walk will also be listed on The Wanderers Bushwalking Clubs Program. Walk on trail to SH 1127, then off trail north east to SH 1095. Descend into Kangaroo Creek at around GR 329 060, then follow the cliff line and ledges all the way to GR 315 056. Exit to Angus Place Trail and walk back to vehicles. About 12 km. Partly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

From the station we walk along San Jose Ave to North Lawson Trail, then follow cliff top to Echo Bluff, Echo Point and Fairy Falls. Down steps to Dantes Glen Falls, St Michaels Falls, Empire Pass and a gentle up hill to Frederica Falls. Take Hughes Ave track back to Lawson. Don't expect the huge cliffs and scenery of Katoomba. But from this uncrowded Echo Point, we look out onto the Grose Wilderness Area just a few kilometres away. No houses or roads to be seen.
