A tough but rewarding walk starting from the spectacular Walls of Jerusalem National Park and then following the very scenic lakes route, passing Ball/Adelaide/Meston/Junction Lakes down to the Never Never, which is the link to the Overland Track. Then a side trip to the gorgeous Pine Valley to give us time to explore the Labyrinth and climb The Acropolis before walking out to Cynthia Bay or alternatively getting the ferry back along Lake St Clair. Quite simply, this is one of Australia's most stunning walks, and Autumn is the best time to experience it! You can expect cold & rain ... anytime! Trackless section through the Never Never.

We start off with a scenic connecting bus ride to Palm Beach wharf. We then hop on an interesting ferry ride to Mackerel Beach. The walk takes us through forest & and down three immaculately secluded beaches, Red Hand Cave & and West Head Lookout & and gives way to magnificent views of Pittwater, Palm Beach & and Barrenjoey headland. We can stop for a nice picnic & a swim to cool off. Overhead tree branches.

This walk beside the river passes next to the pools and then descend to the gorge and river. Impressive views of the Mermaid Pools and water falls and cascades in the gorge. The track joins the valley floor and crosses the river twice then returns to the cliff edge via Rosies Pass. Return back to cars via views of Mermaid Pools and the Bargo River. Hazards include slippery rocks, steep descents, river crossings.

It will be a delight for watchers of whales, seals, dolphins & birds. Every second Sunday we will utilise public transport to do a section of around 300km of this memorable & beautiful walk. Come & join in our fun & adventure. Today we will start the first section at the Barrenjoey Lighthouse, where you can get a magnificent view of Pittwater, Palm Beach & Barrenjoey headland. We then walk pass a series of rugged headlands, bush tracks with sweeping view of the coast, Pittwater, and finish at Collaroy. Some street & beach walks. Rock scrambling & uneven surfaces.

A lot of the walk is in Knapsack Park Reserve on the Escarpment. Yoogali Lookout overlooks Penrith Lakes. A few creek crossings. A variety of tracks, trails and roads to be negotiated including MTB tracks which are eroded, rough and steep in places.

Our journey takes us across the mighty Hawkesbury River, past Lion Island and up the channel into the placid Brisbane Water. On alighting the ferry at Ettalong, we will walk along the flat to climb Blackwall Mountain (121m) for absolutely spectacular views, before descending and walking along the largely flat parks adjoining beautiful Brisbane Water. We follow the shoreline until we reach Woy Woy Station to catch a train home. Booking essential giving your phone, emergency contact and NPA numbers. Possible rough seas, some street walking and tracks can be rough in places.
