Walk from North Ryde Metro Station to the Lane Cove River via Great North Walk (GNW). Cross the river at Epping Road and leave the GNW. Walk and explore the various tracks along the river to Fullers Bridge where we will pick up the GNW again. Hopefully, we will be able to view Fairyland on the opposite side of the river. (Highest point between Sydney and Canberra), Ninety Acre Hill lookout and a track that leads through a beautiful fern gully. The track is sometimes overgrown and difficult to locate. Park cars at Airly Gap, follow Tramway Trail north and then west around the base of the Mount Airly cliffs, looking at historic sites along the way. At the junction with the old haulway, climb up to the cliff edge overlooking Torbane. Investigate the area for old infrastructure and possibly clamber down some of the descent into Torbane. Park on the road from Mount Airly to Genowlan Trig where there is suitable space. Walk up the road to the top of the plateau and then take the road to Genowlan Trig. Leave this road at about GR 253 320 and head east to the top, southern end of the Valley of the Dinosaurs. We will then proceed down the valley stopping to explore as many slots as possible on both sides. Next, visit the Ultimate Slot and then return to the road and to the vehicles. Central Grampians – Wonderland Circuit Walk 13km – grade 3; Mt Rosea Circuit Walk 12km – grade 3. Northern Grampians – Mt Stapylton Loop Walk 12km – grade 3; Mt Gar, Briggs Bluff Traverse 15km grade 3, Southern Grampians – Moora Moora Falls Walk 11km – grade 3; Fyans Creek to Mt William 16km – grade 3; Teddy Bear Gap Loop 9km – grade 3; The Fortress Walk 12km Grade 4. Accommodation will be in the Halls Gap Gardens Caravan Park, a variety of cabins are available and powered and unpowered sites for camping, campervans and motorhomes.
