|WEA/Unions NSW event. Learn about this celebration that was first celebrated in Australia by striking shearers at Barcaldine in Queensland in 1891. The course will include a light lunch followed by a short walk to Sussex Street, for a guided tour of Unions NSW's May Day display and their historic Banner Room. This course will also acknowledge the contribution that the union movement has made to the environment movement including the outstanding contribution that the Green Bans made in protecting Sydney’s urban environment. |4 May, Fri||SE cliffs of Genowlan Mountain|
|Park vehicles on the Capertee to Glen Davis Road at approximately GR 268 298. Head out along a spur to the north, descend into and cross Dog Trap Creek at approximately GR 271 306 before ascending a long north orientated ridge towards the cliffs of Mount Genowlan. Climb up a further 200m to reach a point on the cliffs where the drainage tips to the west. From this point explore the headwaters before ascending through the next line of cliffs before heading ENE to a compound slot at GR 275 330. Descend through the cliff line and return to the cars via a northern tributary network of Dog Trap Creek. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.
