(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) Ahearn's lookout is found by following the beginning of Starlight's Track.  Take a left fork leading to Rocky Waterholes Lookout and just past this junction look for a right turn which meanders along the ridge to Ahearn's lookout.  This gives views over the Nattai with Mt Jellore easily identified.  Return by the same route. Hazards: Rough track, fallen trees and unfenced cliffs. Location: Nattai NP Map: Hilltop 8929-2N Limit: 20. View

Return is via the Western Escarpment track through native heath with coastal views, birdlife and wildflowers. Medium pace. Continue underneath the cliff line and explore the multiple ravines of Kangaroo Creek, going south, until about GR 330 062. Re-connect with the vehicles. About 8 km. Partly exploratory. This is a great walk and not that difficult although it does entail some scrambling, mainly off-track walking, but certainly worth it. Rock scrambling. Ridgewell Road – Burramoko Ridge – Baltzer Lookout – Burramoko Ridge – Crayfish Creek – Burra Korain Ridge – Ridgewell Road. Fabulous views from Burramoko Head and a nice off-track walk to Crayfish Ck and Burra Korain Ridge. The downside is the road walking. Graded a 4 due to the off-track section. Springtime is upon us and this walk will showcase a bounty of wildflowers that only the Sydney sandstone region can achieve! We will follow the eastern side of Girrakool Creek down over Piles Creek before heading south over Scopas Peak, then the Hawkesbury Track, the old Woy Woy Road, past the scout camp and back along the western Girrakool circuit back to the start. Expect lots of scenic lookouts, beautiful waterfalls, and of course a mass of wildflowers including Waratahs which should be coming into bloom.
