Walk along the Umina shoreline from the Ocean Beach Surf Club, follow the track below the cliffs of Umina Point to Pearl Beach. Visit the Arboretum and, if time allows, head up to Green Point, before returning to Ocean Beach. Beach walking, bush tracks. Sand walking, creek crossings, falling rocks, cliffs, slippery if wet. Descend to the north east into Bowen Hill Creek, then traverse above the creek and/or walk in the creek upstream, exploring for caves and other features. Continue south as far as the time and energy allows, then climb back on the ridge and walk to the start. Partly exploratory. About 10 km. Scrambling and exposure. (Fully Booked) Flying Fox accessed by a fire trail has the remains of the flying fox used to bring timber up from the valley. The walk then returns to the Cooks Nose Lookout, a wonderful lunch spot. On the edge of the escarpment there are spectacular views.
