9 Oct, Sun 9:05AM			A stunning walk from Manly to The Spit via the North Head

(Cancelled) We did this stunning walk as a training walk for Cape to Cape. As it is so beautiful, we are putting it on again in Spring when there will be even more wildflowers, so that others can enjoy it as well. This walk starts from Manly, pass a couple of beaches, a couple of lookouts, a hole in Bluefish wall. Then we explore the hanging swamps of Northhead, North Fort, observation post, 2 gun pits, barrel display, and the memorial walk. We will have morning tea at a prestigious point where you see the beautiful South Head from a distance. You can even treat yourself to a cup of coffee and a slice. From there, we will continue our way back to Manly, passing beautiful Collins Flat Beach, amongst lovely houses and ocean views. We can have a good break at Manly seashore for lunch. Then we will continue along some historic buildings and along the waterfront to the Spit. The walk to the Spit is studded with wildflowers at the moment. It is a wonderful treat to have the sea on your left and the spring flowers on your right. We walk past more beautiful beaches before hitting The Spit. For those who are feeling energetic, we will walk along the waterfront, tide permitting to beautiful Balmoral Beach where you can celebrate with a c0ol drink or ice cream. That will be an extra 3 km. (Fully Booked) A relaxed walk along the iconic Cape to Cape track over 12 days, including 2 rest days for whale watching or visiting wineries. On one rest day, there will be an optional short walk at Ambergate Reserve, a wildflower hotspot. Car shuffles each day suitable for 2WD vehicles (some unsealed roads). Leader will stay in one of the parks in Margaret River town, most likely at Margaret River Tourist Park on Station Street. There are many accommodation options. Please keep up to date with WA border entry requirements - these will almost certainly change by October, and any problems are your own responsibility. Detailed itinerary will be provided to successful registrants. Stretches of sand walking, some steep sections. Several long days (longest 21k). Limit: 16. View
