Mostly on track and under the rainforest canopy with excellent lookouts and two solid climbs. We will visit the imposing Lawrence Hargrave monument, view remnants of a coal mine and see the sculptures acknowledging the local Aboriginal Wodi Wodi people, account of the 5 islands formation. Potential side trip to Robertsons Lookout (adds 2 kms) and late lunch in the Botanical Gardens, time dependant. Two early climbs, 210m and 180m. This is one of the Jim series of walks. Hazards: Two off-track sections including a long off-track scramble up a dry gully, unfenced lookouts, slippery in parts when wet. This walk is rescheduled from 30 April, deferred due to rain. (Fully Booked) From the end of Jack's Corner Road follow Griffins Fire Trail to a track to the left. Follow this through the forest to a steep descent to the main dirt road leading to Beehive Point on Lake Yarrunga. This is a lovely picnic area and chance for a swim. Return by the main dirt road.

Walk north over bridge turning left into Wakehurst P'way then follow Narrabeen Lagoon trail. Turn right under Wakehurst Pkway to Deep Creek Reserve. Then follow firetrail into Garigal NP and then take track looping around Moon Rock.
Return to Narrabeen .

From Wog Wog campsite we walk along tracks past the amazing Corang Arch, Profile Hill Rock and onto Burrumbeet Brook where a comfortable camp cave awaits us.
Then on day 2 we will do a day walk to Mt Cole, 7 Gods pinnacles and the Monolith Valley.

The original inhabitants of the Canoelands area were the Darug people. The Darug were the custodians of the majority of what is now the Greater Sydney region. They were divided into a number of different 'clans', whose quick demise upon European settlement has sadly resulted in very little information remaining on how they utilised the local area. A steep climb to start, up Mt Durras, then walk across to Pebbly Beach (partly on the road) and stop for lunch. On the way back explore the new track along the coast back to Pretty. Some uphill and down, along rock platforms, up and down constructed steps, short section on the Pebbly Road. The walk is long but pace will be steady with plenty of time to enjoy the coast on the way back. Whole day walk. Should be back at cars around 4:30 pm.
