The distance isn't very far but this is not an area you can travel in a speedy manner as there's so much to see along the way, including some very impressive pagodas. Intending walkers should be fully vaxxinated. Rock scrambling and mostly off-track walking so expect some bush bashing.

Potentially mud and leeches so be prepared.

Opened in November 2003, Mt Penang Gardens is considered an enduring and radical contribution to public garden design in Australia. Its distinctive design by Anton James sets it apart from the traditional botanical garden. His garden within a garden produces an understated landscape that is less manicured and in a constant state of being. It continues to evolve today. 12 unique garden rooms, sculptures and cascading waterways.
