We will be looking at the remains of the original convict-built hospital and an old convict-built drain before walking along the river to the Rosehill Bowling Club, where we will enjoy lunch together. Summer in the Snowies is hard to beat with the wildflowers in full bloom, the days generally not too hot and the air is as fresh as it gets. This is a 5 day pack walk with a rest day on day 3 .On this almost complete loop we will enjoy the mountains, frost hollow plains and everything in between! Highlights include a day walk from Mawsons hut down Valentines Falls, a superb wild section of the Finns river, the rugged beauty of the Kerries and much much more. Starting at Rawson Park, Mosman, descend to Chowder Bay Rd, walk out to Middle Head, descend to Balmoral Beach via the steel steps and return up the hill on the old tramway route. It’s a loop walk. A little climb up a hill then squeeze through a small opening, will find you in a crevice adorned with the hieroglyphs. From there, we can retrace our steps for a short distance, then walk the Koolewong Fire trail for a further kilometre or so before crossing the creek and having lunch at the waterfall. After lunch, we'll visit the Aboriginal Carvings. View Esther's future walks A bit of scrambling to get to the hieroglyphs. Chance of getting wet feet. It is inspired by native flowers. How about we avoid the pre-Christmas rush and go after Xmas? I'm planning to see the Movie Nomadland at 4pm Dendy, Newtown.
