This walk replaces Ian Baker's the Cheltenham to Epping walk on 11th April 2022. The walk around the Balmain peninsula takes you to many different vantage points which provide a variety of views across the Harbour, including Ballast Point, Birchgrove Park, Elkington Park and the foreshore of East Balmain; it also considers the industrial history of the area. The route takes roads and alleyways, park paths and several sets of steps. Hazards: steps.

This canyon will be done without abseiling. There are a couple of short deep pools, so bring your dry bags and also, if you wish, some change.
Park at GR 511 862 on Bells Line of Road and make our way down into Dalpura Creek. Follow it through the canyon section. Climb out to the north west and visit the Jinki Ridge, then descend back and climb out to the south east and walk to Dalpura Head. Make our way back to the cars. Some exposure and scrambling. This walk will take in some of the Buddawangs most spectacular walking routes and features and will be a walk you won't want to miss out on! Starting from Wog Wog campground we make our way past the following scenic locations - Mt Corang, Corang Arch, Burrumbeet Brook, Mt Tarn, Mt Haughton, Styles Creek, Hidden Valley, The Vines, and the Endrick river, to name a few! Hidden in these locations are comfortable camp caves, stunning grassy campsites, pristine watercourses and indigenous art sites, all worth exploring.

It connects us with nature, and with ourselves, through beautiful landscapes and inspiring encounters with wildlife. Bicentennial Park gives you glimpses of a creek and mangrove habitat as well as a quiet wetland area followed by the lovely Belvedere Lake with its central fountain feature. There is a wonderful opportunity for a view of surrounding scenery in the form of the treillage tower - a metal structure that gives you access to a 17 metre high viewing platform from which you can see some other areas of Bicentennial Park as well as the wider surrounds including the views of the city. Park one car at Airly Gap and drive another one to GR 215 306 on Glen Davis Road. From the second car, ascend a ridge to the north, visiting The Fort, and continue to the end of a promontory at around GR 213 330. Descend underneath the cliff line and follow it around via Torbane Blade till about GR 219 338, then make our way up above the cliffs and eventually to the top of Mount Airly. From Lake Couridjah car park we will head along Slades Rd and left into Dry Lakes Rd and follow this fire trail to the boundary of the NP. After backtracking a short distance we then traverse a new track through to Radcliffs lookout for lunch. After lunch it's a short backtrack to pick up a track down through a glen to the ruins of a farm house and then on to Lake Werri Berri. From there we make our way back to the cars.

We meet at the corner of Norton and William Streets in Leichhardt. We will finish with lunch in Pioneers Memorial Park. Optional visit to the Sydney Bus Museum including a return trip to Huntleys Point in a vintage double-decker bus ($20, $15 seniors). On this day, there will be a display of vintage London buses in addition to the local buses. Bus rides will operate every 30 minutes. There will also be short local rides in a London black cab. Who wants to go for a nice long pack walk to celebrate the end of lock downs??? The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world's great long distance walk trails, stretching 1000km from Kalamunda, a suburb in the hills on the outskirts of Perth, to the historic town of Albany on the south coast. It passes through the heart of the scenic south west of Western Australia. The track takes walkers through towering karri and tingle forests, down mist-shrouded valleys, over giant granite boulders and along breathtaking coastal heathlands. It passes through many of the most beautiful national parks of the south west forests and coastline. We will take about 50 days to complete the walk. We will camp at the designated Bibbulmun campsites which have a shelter, table and benches, water tank and drop toilet - luxury! Weekly stopovers in a town for a shower and re-stock of food supplies. This walk will be led by Marion from WEA Ramblers. It takes us through the Myles Dunphy Reserve, along the Northern Slopes Track to Limekilns Bay and Oatley Park, returning to Oatley Station. The third walk in a series of day walks immersed in the nature of the Cumberland Plain (Western Sydney). The Cumberland Plain offers the least explored bushwalks of the Greater Sydney region, despite an abundance of wildlife, flora and history. Today’s walk is a 5 km (10 km return) walk exploring the Devils Back and Abbotsbury Hills. Please note that this walk requires crossing (incorrect) ‘no trespass’ signage on a legal public thoroughfare. The walk follows foot tracks and fire trails with some shallow hills. Down Vineyard and Subiaco Creek, tributaries of the Parramatta River and then along the river until a little after the Gasworks Bridge on Macarthur Street to the Charles Street Weir, opposite Parramatta Wharf and at the bottom of the Queens Avenue stairs. It’s hard to believe that the outside world is so close as the trees have formed a leafy canopy with birds, insects, a waterfall and reservoir.
