(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) The GRNC1 crosses the great southern section of Grande Terre, the main island of New Caledonia and takes bushwalkers on a journey of a variety of habitats from tropical beaches to towering rainforests, waterfalls galore and scenic mountain ridges, making this truly a walk in paradise. There are walkers huts at each campsite and we will travel through the Blue River provincial park for a large section of the walk. Red Rocks & Brown Mtn are on the top of Mt Cambewarra. A rough fire trail leads out to a trig point overlooking Kangaroo Valley. On the return, a side track leads out to Brown Mountain lookout for views over the south coast. Aboriginal rubbings are seen on both tracks.

Starting from Buxton Ave on the edge of Nattai NP, we follow a short distance on fire trails to pick up a track that leads us down to the Blue Forest in Thirlmere Lakes NP. Generally downhill with a total descent of 200m. Car shuffle required.

The walk starts at the rose garden in Roxbrough Park Road.
There is some street walking to reach Crestwood Reserve.
There are shared walk/cycle ways through the reserve .
The walk continues as far as Seven Hills Road and the leads back through Tory Burn Reserve to Windsor Road and back to the Rose Garden.
The walk will also be listed on The Wanderers Bushwalking Clubs Program. Trip hazzards, cyclists on shared pathways, road crossings, the occassional snake. Location: Baulkham Hills Limit: 10. View |

Continues to Solander Track. Pretty along the creek, with a waterfall (Phantom Falls). Some quite wet tiny tracks. Lots of ups and downs. Those who use hiking sticks, bring them. This walk starts and finishes at The Ponds Shopping Centre. Morning tea and lunch here or at adjacent park. Bring own morning tea and lunch or buy from the shops. Bring a snack in case we end up having a late lunch. The suburb of The Ponds straddles Second Ponds Creek. This creek flows north over 10km from Parklea, through The Ponds and Rouse Hill Regional Park, to join the Cattai River at Annangrove. Along our walk we will see remnants of the woodland that covered this flood plain. As well, we visit Dragonfly Pool and the pretty Ironbark Lake. Mostly on shared concrete pathway.
