Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPark at GR 420 250 and walk up Capertee Gorge all the way to the non-negotiable waterfall at GR 387 242, checking out an interesting short canyon and tunnel just before that point. Now, walk back a few hundred metres, climb out on the northern side and walk to Mount Dawson. From there, head east to a pass at GR 393 238 and come back down into the Capertee Creek Gorge. Keep under the cliff line this time, whilst making our way back. The first section is through private property; access has been arranged. Partly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

The first 8 km are off-road – along the Shoalhaven (no track), then up the Mt Ayres track, then across the tops on the ‘Green track’ to the NPWS campground. Lunch and possibly a siesta at the campground. Then an afternoon walk of 3.5km to take the edge off the next day, which otherwise would be a long day.
