Grade:4/6 Length 7km  120m Sydney Branch

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long60 Best walks | This is one of the NPA's 60 best walks. This walk has plenty of variety but be prepared for wet shoes and water up to your thighs in one place. We will do a clockwise circuit starting on Bells Line Of Road and walk along Dalpura Ridge to various lookouts with great views of the Grose Valley before descending to Dalpura Creek. We then follow the creek upstream to a very pretty canyon section where there is an opportunity for a swim. After that, we continue to follow the creek upstream before branching off and going off-track up a slope to rejoin the ridge track and make our way back to the cars. Most of the walk is flat or downhill except for aforementioned climb out. About 7km. We will meet at Mt. Victoria Station carpark at 08:30 and travel by car to start. Alternatively, meet at start on BLOR. Contact leader for details. Trips, falls and slippery rocks. Wear sunscreen.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long60 Best walks | This is one of the NPA's 60 best walks.Photography | A trip that has a strong focus on encouraging people to capture photographs.Morong creek with its series of spectacular cascades and falls is one of the gems of the Kanangra Boyd National Park and on this walk we will follow its downward path as it plummets down to the Kowmung river. If its going to be a hot day we may not go all the way down to the Kowmung river but swim in the many pools created by the creek. As this is a reasonable drive from Sydney, participating hikers may prefer to stay in Oberon the night before. rock scrambling

21-22 Feb, Sat-Sun Queanbeyan to Captains Flat return
Length 86km  263m Sydney Branch
Rob & Jayne G.
Accommodation | An activity that involves an overnight stay, using hard-roofed accommodation such as a cabin, hut or hotel.Cycle | A cycling trip
Want to try the road less travelled? This is a 2 day ride. It begins at Queanbeyan, riding to the historic town of Captains Flat, which is 43kms. There is an incline on the 1st day, rising from 600m asl to 863m asl. The great news is the return trip has plenty of downhill cycling. We will stay in the Captains Flat Hotel, which opened in 1937. When it opened, it had the longest bar in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere.
Please contact Rob Gibson 0452 070 345 or shirebabies@gmail.com ASAP, as the numbers will be limited and accommodation will need to be booked. There are a number of single, twin bed and double bed rooms available, which I've tentatively reserved until Wed 28th. It will be possible for some to share a room.  It's been many years since I've led this ride, so it's a great opportunity to see what was once a thriving mining town.
