Park one car at about GR 736 990 and another one at GR 741 015 on D’Arcy Trail. From the second car, walk west into a gully, descend under the cliffs and follow them south for as far as the time, energy and interest allow. This is a walk to take in a whole range of tracks that offer the walker superb viewpoints, wonderful waterfalls and cascades and numerous places of beauty along the way. Finish and start are from the Conservation Hut at Wentworth Falls. Expect a lot of steps during our journey but also a fair amount of stops, admiring the beauty of nature! (Fully Booked) Leader will be Sue Atteridge. Today we walk CALEYI TRAIL , Deep Creek Valley Trail and continue along the Narrabeen lagoon to the Tramshed. CALEYI TRAIL is named after Caley’s Grevillea, a medium to tall shrub that is only found in an 8km square area that includes Belrose, Ingleside and Terrey Hills/Duffys Forest). As it is now spring, expect to see wildflowers, grass trees, ferns and eucalypts. There is a wide rock platform and some interesting sandstone formations. There are some nice views over the GARIGAL NATIONAL PARK. Near the trail are carvings of two kangaroos, one of which has a spear in its back (described by WD Campbell). Starting from Mount Kuring-gai and walking part of the Great North Walk to Berowra Station via Berowra Creek. This walk descends along the Lyrebird Gully Track, where I have seen lyrebirds on past walks, through forests along Calna Creek to join Berowra Creek. Joining the Great North Walk from Crosslands. Walk North on the track beside the creek, before climbing the track back up to Berowra. Hazards include slipery surfaces, steep descents and ascents, wildlife. Upon arrival on this car-free oasis of bush, beach and tranquillity, we will be welcomed by tree-lined palms and jacarandas. On the lower grounds we'll walk past the Bowling Club and Bradleys Beach. On the higher grounds we'll get great views of the Hawkesbury River. We'll also walk past a Blackbutt – Rough-barked Apple Forest. Enjoy the scenic train ride across the Hawkesbury River and a joy ferry ride to the island. Enjoy lunch or Devonshire tea at Dangar Island Depot before taking the ferry back home.
