(Nearly fully booked) The "neighbourhood series" will be led by walkers who live in the vicinity of where they live. Today we walk from Rushcutters Bay to Kings Cross, via Botanical Gardens. Leader is Fiona Thompson. As Covid restriction limits the no of visitors to 5, she cannot host afternoon tea at her Darlinghurst Home after the walk. Instead she has made booking at Cruising Yacht Club of Australia ( home of Sydney to Hobart race) for lunch. Please state if you will join the optional lunch. This walk will replace the annual Australia Day walk I host each year. Quite simply, this will be one of the finest wilderness walks you can ever do in our wonderful state! Within the Kanangra Boyd National Park lies the untamed Kowmung River and on this walk, we will explore the spectacular Morong Deep which is in my opinion has the finest swimming available in the Blue mountains.From the cars we will walk down to the Kowmung and then have a wilderness basecamp exploring the Morong Deep and the Kowmung River at our leisure,and maybe even catching a trout or two! (Cancelled) Cancelled due to extreme temperature Co-leader: Stuart Sew Hoy. This is a historic walk http://heritagedrive.com.au/project/history-walk-faulconbridge-steam-saw-mill-site/. We walk from Linden to Faulconbridge. Visit an Aboriginal site and the historic sawmill, and a few rocky vantage points, which offered spectacular views of the valley. The track to the creek is steep and involves some rock scrambling but it is adorned with wildflowers of various colours, overhangs and caves. Unfortunately this walk involves 4 km of street walking.View Esther's future walks Creek crossings, steep and slippery sections. Gortex boots an advantage. We will walk round Glenbrook Lagoon, through Mt Sion to Lennox Bridge. Then Elizabeth L/O, down to Knapsack Bridge. Under the highway and along River Road Reserve past the sculptures and Yandhai Bridge. Passing O'Donoghues Irish Pub for optional lunch (make your own arrangements and at your own expense). The pub is only metres from Emu Plains Station. Comply with Covid-19 regulations regarding spacing whilst walking, bring your own sanitiser etc. Rough ground, trip hazards, one very steep down. From Waterfall Station following Couranga Track then crossing Hacking River. Walking to Southern part of the shady Forest Path Circuit. Then short walk along Lady Carrington Drive and on to Palona Cave. Unusual limestone overhangs with some stalagmites and stalactites and waterfall near the cave. Return via the Northern section of the Forest Path Circuit and uphill return on Couranga Track to Waterfall Station.

(Updated Details) The walk starts from Mt Kuring-gai Station to the lookout over Apple Tree Bay on NPWS track, then follows old pipeline to Apple Tree Bay. From the car park at the bay, go up Apple Tree Creek to small waterfall and return to car park. Next follow usual track along Cowan Creek to Berowra.
Meet at exit from station on eastern side of freeway, Harwood Ave.

This is another coastal walk to escape the heat. Check the Bondi forecast for details of how much cooler this area is. There are great views enroute and the invitation to have a surf at Bondi at the conclusion of the walk. You can purchase your lunch at Bondi too.
