If you think of Manly only as a beach, come along and change your mind. This walk climbs the hills around Manly. Starting at Manly Wharf, it heads up and over to Little Manly Beach, then crosses the ridge to Fairy Bower Beach via St Patricks College. After a long flat stretch along the promenade from Steyne to Queenscliff beaches, it climbs towards Freshwater. From the top, the walk descends to Manly Creek. It finishes with a climb to the Kangaroo statue, returning via Ivanhoe Park and Tower Hill Park to Manly Cove. Steps.

Starting at Balmoral Beach with its little jetty and huge fig trees; to Middle Head to explore fortifications and cliff top views beyond the Heads; then through angophora trees to Georges Heights and barracks converted to artist studios; and on to Clifton Gardens for lunch. Then we will walk beside secluded bays to the navy memorials at Bradley’s Head. Then it is a short walk to Taronga Zoo for a Ferry to Circular Quay and trains home. Limit: 20. View

We paddle up kangaroo river and pass Bundanoon creek. At Beehive point we turn into Yurunga creek. Here we explore the old road that once lead from the southern highlands to Nowra and desppares under water to resurface on the other side. Will explore Yurunga creek. Return to our lunch spot across from Beehave point. Return to Talloowa Dam. Deep water. dead trees and tree stumps in the water.

We will follow the fire trail along Devlins Creek to the junction with the Great North Walk (GNW). Follow the GNW until the Terrys Creek Track turnoff. Follow this track through various parks until we come to Terrys Creek Falls. We will then back track and walk to the Epping Railway Station. Possible sightings of flannel flowers and other flowers in bloom along this walk. The track could be rough and slippery in parts. Creek crossings.  Limit: 15. View

Back along road for a kilometre and take old bridal track down to the Powerline Trail near the Nepean River. Follow this to Fitzgeralds Creek for lunch. After lunch there is the hill up to the cliffs overlooking Fitzgeralds Creek. Walk up to bus stop near Summit St. Some off-track. The main creek crossings have concrete causeways. Some steep sections. Some eroded sections.
