Then follow the Nature Trail, Overcliff Walk to Den Fenella. Visit some old lookouts on the way up to the picnic area for lunch and then two modern lookouts. Main creek crossing may require getting shoes/feet wet. Wet rocks are always a chance of being slippery.

This is a great coastal walk to escape the heat. There are great views en route and the invitation to have a surf at Bondi at the conclusion of the walk. You can purchase your lunch at Bondi too. Booking essential. Include your mobile, emergency contact and NPA numbers. Some stairs and not much shade, so bring a hat and plenty of water.

No touching.   Not quite the Jacaranda walk, but there are many shades of pink apart from the pink Crepe Myrtle lined streets. We walk from Canterbury Station to Ashfield. Points of interest: Canterbury Park Race Course, Canterbury Park, Gough Reserve, Yeo Park, Trinity Grammar School, Peace Park, Peace Park Viewing Tower, beautiful old houses. Although there are many options for lunch at the end of the walk, it is not advisable to dine out at the moment.  There is a takeaway Indian Tea at the station which you can enjoy though.

The Boxvale Track follows the formation of a historic railway line that makes its way through cuttings, along embankments and through an 84-metre long tunnel on the way to a fabulous lookout above the Nattai River. We will also follow the 40 Foot Track down to the river, which is a good place for a swim, then back along the Mt Alexandra Track to the finish. Track steep in places.

Many grass trees. Some wildflowers. Steep and slippery sections. A few creek crossings.

Note 420m ascent and descent. Walk feels longer than 8km. Visit Ross Cave, Bede Lookout, Pulpit Rock, Little Zig Zag, Rienits Pass, Wilson Glen and back past Ross Cave. Old track, poorly maintained. In a couple of places a slip would not be good. Muddy in places.

We will then cross over into the Botanic Gardens and visit the Calyx to see the new floral display, Inside The Tide, (gold coin donation) and Birds of a Feather art exhibition. From there we'll walk through the gardens and Circular Quay to the Museum of Contemporary Art to view the free exhibits. Bus, train or ferry home from Circular Quay. Limit: 10. View

Canyon | A trip through a canyon (a gully surrounded by tall cliffs).ALL INTENDING WALKERS MUST BE DOUBLE VACCINATED. Rocky Creek Canyon is without a doubt one of the most spectacular canyons in the Greater Blue Mountains/Wollemi area with its exquisite sculptured walls, numerous cascades and gorgeous pools to enjoy on a hot summer day. There are a few compulsory swims, so a wetsuit is essential, and a helmet should be used as well. The leader has many spare helmets to loan if intending walkers don't have one. There are no abseils involved. Rock scrambling and hopping with several swims involved.

Beginning from Lewisham station, we will view several generations of railway bridges and road bridges, and walk across a number of footbridges. including a couple of little known footbridges in the Callan Park precinct. We will finish in Rozelle, with many options for lunch - pub, pizza, Thai, etc. There's plenty of shade if it's hot weather. Train from Central at 9:42 arrives Lewisham 9:55. Meet on the south side of the station, at the corner of Railway Terrace and Victoria Street.   Limit: 16. View
