![]() ![]() ![]() (Nearly fully booked) Meeting at Circular Quay Wharf 5 at 9:40am to catch the F8 ferry to Birchgrove from where we will walk mainly around the foreshore of the Balmain peninsula and conclude at the London Hotel (1870 - one of the longest operating pubs in Sydney) for lunch in a private room overlooking the city. Those who have walked with our group are welcome to attend. Booking is essential giving your NPA, mobile and emergency numbers, unless I already have them. Meet leader at Wharf 5, Circular Quay. Signs along the track highlight more than 20 000 years of continuous Aboriginal culture in this area. Find out about bush medicines, food like the edible native cherry, and cabbage tree palms which provide basket weaving material. Visit a fascinating Aboriginal rock shelter. A mostly shaded walk.

But wait theres more! Bring along you're flotation device such as a surfmat or donut and we will float down the river, shoot the odd cascade before we return and eventually climb back up the way we came. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From Yadboro campground walk along Deadman’s Gulch Road to the Bhundoo Cottages gate, then down into the river. Wade, swim or lilo back along the river to the Yadboro bridge. Shoes suitable for walking in the water required. Maximum water depth is 1.2 metres. Yadboro activities include socialising, swimming, morning tea, lunch, billy boiling etc. There is about 1km of walking in the river.

Calling for expressions of interest in a week long Wet Tropics World Heritage Area exploration. Specially designed itinerary by Trade Travel to include flights to and from Cairns, visits to local rainforest, talks by local experts on rainforest and reef, visit to art deco town Innisfail, guided excursions from Mission Beach into national parks and islands with historical/scientific talks and easy walks. Options to visit the reef and extend your stay. Initiated by NPA Book Club from discussion of Iain McCalman's biography of conservationist pioneer John Busst.
Dates and costs tbc. Up to $4,000 per person twin share.

![]() ![]() My wife and I will be heading over to Africa for our 7th safari and this time we are travelling from Kenya in Tanzania for 13 days staying in excellent accommodation including lodges and glamping tents whilst searching for wildlife. There are 10 spaces left on the trip with G Adventures and if any members would love to join us that would be wonderful! Below is the link to the safari.
