 (Updated Details) The walk starts at junction of Old Northern Road and Excelsior Avenue , Castle Hill. The route is then through Bigigal reserve and follows Darling Mills Creek to Lake Parramatta, Parramatta Park to Parramatta CBD.
Walkers can chose to leave the group at North Rocks Road before entering Lake Parramatta Reserve or at Windsor Road soon after leaving Lake Parramatta.
Historic buildings and the Light Rail constuction will be seen before continuing to Parramatta.
There is much history here, including Old Governmen House and the site of first wheat field in Australia.
Walkers may choose to visit the Catholic Church - rebuilt after a fire and the adjoining new build. Hazards: The track down Excelsior Creek,Darling Mills Creek and around Lake Parramatta is quite rough in places with trip hazzards. There are two creek crossings( there is an alternate short bypass to avoid these crossings}.
