| 6 Dec, Sat 8:00AM | Bungonia Gorge Circuit | ||||
| Grade:5/6 | Length | 9km | 630m | Southern Sydney Branch | |
| Paul L. | |||||
![]() Bungonia Gorge has a vertical side in the section that we walk and is impressive in depth. With a drop of nearly 300 metres in a gorge which is 800 metres long and only 76 metres wide, it is the deepest gorge in Australia. The track is well defined to and from the canyon and is a steep descent/ascent. The canyon itself has a boulder field that is a challenge and a delight to find ways over, under or beside the boulders. The creek has pools as it exits the boulder field and makes its way to join the Shoalhaven River. Starting on the red track we descend into the canyon and then down stream through the boulder field. We will follow the creek to the white track at the confluence with the Shoalhaven River and then up to Mt Ayre lookout for views over the creek and river. Rejoin the red track and back to cars. Boulder field, rock scrambling, creek crossings.Location: Bungonia NP Limit: 12. View |

| 13 Dec, Sat 8:00AM | Blue Mountain Creek and Track | ||||
| Grade:5/6 | Length | 13km | 500m | Southern Sydney Branch | |
| Paul L. | |||||
![]() This walk came from having walked to the end of two tracks at the end of fire trails, then looking at a map and seeing how close they are with a creek in between. Blue Mountain Creek is joined by following Kent Street fire trail to its end then following the spur down to the confluence of Blue Mountain Creek with the creek from Empire Pass Track. Continuing down the creek with multiple crossing, and wet feet, to the confluence with a creek from Amphitheatre Falls. Explore the canyon and unnamed falls. Exit the creek valley by a series of passes through the sandstone cliff line and up the spur to the end of Blue Mountain track. Track joins North Lawson fire trail and then walk back to Lawson via Empire Pass track. Blue Mountain Creek is lined with lush rain forest and ferns and is seldom visited. No track through this section. Creek crossings, cliff edges.Location: Blue Mountains National Park Limit: 12. View |

| Grade:5/6 | Length | 10km | 450m | Sydney Branch | |
| Mark G. | |||||
![]() ![]() ![]() (Postponed) Morong creek with its series of spectacular falls and cascades is one of the gems of the Kanangra Boyd national park and on this walk we will follow its downward path as its plummets down to the picturesque Kowmung River. On the way we will savour its beauty, go for a swim and do the same when we reach the river at the bottom. This is really wild country and with its pink and grey granite boulders, the Morong creek is truly an amazing place for those with an adventurous spirit. For participating hikers, I'd advise to stay in Oberon the night before as the drive to the start of the walk is much shorter. rock scrambling and offtrackLocation: Kanangra-Boyd NP Map: Shooters Hill 88302S Limit: 12.
