I am expecting the undergrowth to be very thick following regrowth from fires. We will be going at a steady pace throughout the day with enough time to take photos and take in the scenery of the upper reaches of Carne Creek.  Walk the northern section of Mimosa Rocks National Park, starting at Aragunnu. Visit the site of possibly the world's first "Alone" type television program made there about 50 years ago by the ABC. Track ends at a secluded beach. Walk may be extended to view fossils along the water's edge. Narrow, unmaintained track, steep in parts. Some clambering over fallen trunks and limbs. Walking poles recommended. Location: Mimosa Rocks National Park Limit: 12.

Find out why this part of the Gardens of Stone must be better protected for the future generations.
Park at around GR 224 317 on Glen Davis Road. Ascend to the top of Fort Ridge, then follow it north and descend into a ravine at GR 219 330. Explore the ravine upstream and climb out to Torbane Balcony at around GR 221 332. Walk to a promontory point at GR 219 331, then return to the balcony and continue south to about GR 222 330. Find a way down under the cliffs and explore the ravine to the south, finishing on Fort Ridge. On the way back, visit The Fort, if time permits. About 6 km. Scrambling and exposure. Old Government House - $15; $12 Concession.

There are other places of interest in Parramatta Park and O'Connell St; that are worth visiting.
