| Park vehicles at Airly Gap, GR 238 326. Walk south and then west following the alignment of the former tramway/self-actuated incline to the transfer station site then the double track skip haulage to the high level tunnel through the SW end of Mount Airly; climb the spur to the top of the SW corner of Mount Airly, inspect the crest /edge of cliff line before heading north to descend into a tributary of Gap Creek and hence back to the vehicles.
