For this meeting we will be turning to a classic of environmental writing: A Sand Country Almanac: and Sketches Here and There by Aldo Leopold, first published 1949, there have been various editions published since then including an Ebook.
Leopold gives us a charming observation of change over time. His foreword starts - ‘There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot. These essays are the delights and dilemmas of one who cannot’. At our meeting we would like to reflect on Leopold’s writing and consider how we as conservationists accept change over time or should we be trying to direct it? T: From: 15 Aug 2018, 6:00PM |
