Help us clean Up Narrabeen Lagoon after the deluge

Sydney Branch
Tony C.
Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripA whole lot of rubbish came tumbling down the hills around the lagoon during the recent storms, so we’re taking to our kayaks with bags, racks and gloves on the hunt for those pesky bottles, coffee cups, plastic bags and other bits and bobs. With the support of Northern Beaches Council, we’ll be focusing on the shoreline between the picnic areas, which are difficult for land-based crews to access. Join our happy group at 9am on Clean Up Australia Day for a 2-hour session as we work our way around the waterway. Everything provided. No charge for kayak hire for the first 10 to sign up - $25 per person thereafter. You’ll get to experience more of the lagoon as we go and get some nice, gentle exercise, too. You must register in advance. Just send an email to Tony Carr, the former president of Friends of Narrabeen Lagoon Catchment, who will lead the session. Life jackets will be provided and must be worn while on the water.
