Box Vale Tramway has a closed section that will be avoided on this walk. The Tramway itself with historic 85m tunnel to the lookout over the Nattai Gorge Lookout is muddy and open. This walk will start at the Box Vale Track carpark and branch off to visit the Forty Foot Falls on the Nattai Creek and the confluence of the Nattai River. Then return to the Tramway Track to proceed to the lookout for lunch. While the Tramway is flat walking, the track down to the base of the falls includes steps and a ladder.
