 Co-leader John Kennett. Early start. Park some cars at GR 813 962 on Mountain Lagoon Trail and drive other cars to the locked gate on the North Wheeny Gap Trail. Walk to the end of the trail and descend to Wheeny Gap and pools. After a quick swim, find a way through the cliffs to the north, aiming at GR 803 930. If time permits, explore a couple high points for views, then follow a north-trending ridge through Green Scrub and to the parked vehicles. About 14 km. Scrambling and exposure. Mostly exploratory.
