(Nearly fully booked) One of my favourite Blue Mountains Walks, Porters Pass has a bit of everything. Shaded grottos, waterfalls, fern filled gullies, cliff top walks, Pagodas and Fort Rock. Commencing from the Western end of Burton Road we will pick up the over cliff wall to Fort Rock before descending into Centennial Glen. We will check out the upper falls and Walls Ledge before descending into the Centennial Glen Falls. We will take some time to appreciate the grotto half way down the falls. We will then proceed to the base of the falls before backtracking slightly to follow the track to the bottom of the valley. From there we will follow Porters Pass Gully back up and into Porters Pass where we will admire a second grotto hidden in the pass. We will have lunch on the pagodas overlooking the valley. If time permits, we will visit Walls Cave on the Eastern side of Blackheath to take in the slot canyon at the base of the steps and spend time in quiet contemplation inside the amphitheatre of Walls Cave, an area significant to the Darug people. Allow 5 hours for the first walk. 7km and 500m elevation. Allow an additional 1.5 hours for second walk.1.6km and 130m elevation. Uneven wet slippery track in sections Location: Blackheath, Blue Mountains and Blue Mountains National Park Map: Katoomba 89301S Limit: 15.
