(Fully Booked) We are repeating the Heritage Festival 2022 walking tour of Cooks River by Terry Lennis, a proud D'harawal man, local elder and Aboriginal horticulturalist.
The recent history of this area is well documented, but this is an opportunity to hear the Indigenous perspective on the history and current uses of the rivers and waterways. Terry Lennis is one of the knowledge holders for the Midjuburi Ward and he will take you on a bush tucker foraging journey along one of the Inner West's special waterways.
We may take photographs of the speakers and the audience at this event. Read here for more details.
Meeting place: Steel Park Waterpark Limit: 6.

A scenic and relaxed pace ride on cycle paths and cycle routes around the foreshore. Passing through historical properties, then cross over on the punt. Return to the start over John Whitton Bridge. There are train stations along the way if you prefer a shorter ride or getting tired. Unfortunately, riding an e-bike on this trip will mean that you are not covered under NPA club insurance; Bushwalking Australia is working to see if it can be covered for future trips. Mostly on cycle paths, but some road crossings with vehicle traffic. Be aware of other track users, debris /damage/uneven path, and possible mechanical failures. Limit: 10.

This canyon is relatively dry (no swims) and reminds me of Wolgan view canyon in parts. It has some truly spectacular sections including the aptly named Acoustic Chamber which is an enormous overhang of sorts with wonderful aural properties! Expect off-track walking with lots of rock scrambling and an adventurous time as we explore and enjoy this special place. Rock scrambling and off-track walking.
