Starting (and ending) at the Sphinx, a series of carvings by a recuperating WW1 soldier as a memorial to his mates, at the entrance to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park we wind down to the beautiful Cowan Creek and follow it into Bobin Head. There is a steep climb up the ridge on a fire trail which we follow back to the start. See part of the walk on Google Street view tracker here
