Combining management tracks, walking trails & open cross country we will walk through an interesting blend of Sydney Basin & Tableland flora & also walk along a rarely visited section of the Wingecarribee River. If there are sufficient resources available, there may be an optional detour for some of the walkers that will involve an additional climb followed by a short but steep descent. Hazards: Some steep climbs, some off track, uneven surfaces

Park on a fire trail off Sunnyside Ridge Road and walk east to the head of a tributary of Wild Gorge. Descend it, visiting Dome Cave and Pinch Point Circle along the way. Move south east and out towards Carne Creek, then climb out on a tributary and visit Cosmic Cave. Exit via Split Rock Point and Pass. Re-connect with the cars. About 8k. Scrambling and exposure.

Walk north west and descend Long Ridge Knife-edge to Tootie Arch and Sombrero Hat Cave, and then to the Middle Creek junction. Continue up Middle Creek for about a kilometre, then walk up a saddle to the south and descend back into Tootie Creek. From here, head up south west to visit Long Wall and finally back to the vehicles. About 7 km. Scrambling and exposure. Partly exploratory.

The first crossing will be the Epping Rd crossing as part of the Great North Walk. Once across the bridge follow the Lane Cove River upstream around Chatswood Athletic Park, Mowbray Park and around Chatswood Golf Club to Delhi Rd. The second crossing of the Lane Cove River be Delhi Road over Fullers Bridge. We will continue a short distance to meet up with the Great North Walk again. Follow this track back to the Metro Station via Fairyland. Optional lunch: Korean Fried Chicken A few water crossings and rough track surfaces in places.
