Leave the track and head north along the cliff edge for about 2.5km to GR 437 295 and then attempt to walk out to the end of the spur at GR 435 300. Pagodas, rugged terrain. Starting (and ending) at the Sphinx, a series of carvings by a recuperating WW1 soldier as a memorial to his mates, at the entrance to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park we wind down to the beautiful Cowan Creek and follow it into Bobin Head. There is a steep climb up the ridge on a fire trail which we follow back to the start. This provides a lovely lunch place among the rocks with wonderful views into Upper Kangaroo Valley. Rough track, fallen trees, unfenced cliffs and steep ascent/descent. It's beautiful and stunning. She is teaching us how to make movies from photos.
