(Updated Details) What makes the Cremorne to Balmoral walk unique is that even though the city skyline is just a couple of kilometres away, you feel like you are miles from any city while walking here. Over the course of the walk you will come across The pristine bushland of Sydney Harbour National Park An abundance of spectacular views of the harbour An old Naval Base Tiny harbour beaches where you can take a swim A nude beach Several cafes and restaurants at Chowder Bay The Sydney Harbour Marine Institute where you can learn more about the Harbour If the tide is low when we finish at Balmoral, we may extend to The Spit along the waterfront. In that case, the walk will be 17 km. Limit: 12. View

This is a good walk for wet conditions as we are mainly walking on sand, rocks and some raised walkways. We will walk to Jibbon Head and visit the aboriginal engravings on the way. Then walk along the Jibbon Head 4WD track, as it gently climbs 40 metres up sandhills to the junction with the coastal track. Afterwards we follow it to the Balconies and beyond, before returning to the ferry at Bundeena. Spectacular coastal views and coastal heath bushland. Booking essential, giving your mobile, emergency contact and NPA numbers, please. It could be slippery and possibly slushy in places. Walking on sand does require more effort. Combining management tracks, walking trails & open cross country we will walk through an interesting blend of Sydney Basin & Tableland flora & also walk along a rarely visited section of the Wingecarribee River. If there are sufficient resources available, there may be an optional detour for some of the walkers that will involve an additional climb followed by a short but steep descent. Find out why this spectacular area must be better protected for future generations. Park on a fire trail off Sunnyside Ridge Road and walk east to the head of a tributary of Wild Gorge. Descend it, visiting Dome Cave and Pinch Point Circle along the way. Move south east and out towards Carne Creek, then climb out on a tributary and visit Cosmic Cave. Private property access has been arranged. Park at GR 790 997 on Long Ridge Trail. Walk north west and descend Long Ridge Knife-edge to Tootie Arch and Sombrero Hat Cave, and then to the Middle Creek junction. Continue up Middle Creek for about a kilometre, then walk up a saddle to the south and descend back into Tootie Creek. From here, head up south west to visit Long Wall and finally back to the vehicles. About 7 km. Scrambling and exposure. Partly exploratory. Location: Wollemi NP Map: Mountain Lagoon 90313S View

This walk follows the southern shore of the Parramatta River downstream from Abbotsford, through Chiswick and Drummoyne, to Birkenhead Point. It passes under the award winning Gladesville Bridge and the heritage listed Iron Cove Bridge. The many views across the river along the way provide an interesting backdrop.
