This is a good walk for wet conditions as we are mainly walking on sand, rocks and some raised walkways. We will walk to Jibbon Head and visit the aboriginal engravings on the way. Then walk along the Jibbon Head 4WD track, as it gently climbs 40 metres up sandhills to the junction with the coastal track. Afterwards we follow it to the Balconies and beyond, before returning to the ferry at Bundeena. Spectacular coastal views and coastal heath bushland. Booking essential, giving your mobile, emergency contact and NPA numbers, please. It could be slippery and possibly slushy in places. Walking on sand does require more effort. Combining management tracks, walking trails & open cross country we will walk through an interesting blend of Sydney Basin & Tableland flora & also walk along a rarely visited section of the Wingecarribee River. If there are sufficient resources available, there may be an optional detour for some of the walkers that will involve an additional climb followed by a short but steep descent.

Park on a fire trail off Sunnyside Ridge Road and walk east to the head of a tributary of Wild Gorge. Descend it, visiting Dome Cave and Pinch Point Circle along the way. Move south east and out towards Carne Creek, then climb out on a tributary and visit Cosmic Cave. Exit via Split Rock Point and Pass. Re-connect with the cars. About 8k. Scrambling and exposure. Walk north west and descend Long Ridge Knife-edge to Tootie Arch and Sombrero Hat Cave, and then to the Middle Creek junction. Continue up Middle Creek for about a kilometre, then walk up a saddle to the south and descend back into Tootie Creek.
