Walk SW and explore Neubecks Spur and then Hermit Spur. This walk has both the spectacular pagoda landscapes and fascinating historical elements in it. If open cut mining is allowed in other parts of the Forest (eg the Coalpac project), it is only a matter of time before this area too will be destroyed. See it whilst you can. Starting in Alice Springs, we hike along scenic ridges, gorges and mountain peaks, including the glorious Mt Sonder, the highest point on the Trail. Carrying only a day pack as you walk, you'll trek through Wallaby Gap; the Serpentine, Ormiston and Redbank Gorges; Finke River; Rocky Bar Gap and more. Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longThis walk follows the ridge on top of Cambewarra to a trig point which has magnificent views of Kangaroo Valley and Bendeela Pondage. On the return journey there is an opportunity to take a side track to Brown Mountain lookout which give views over the Shoalhaven and coast. There are areas with evidence of aboriginal grinding. Watch the sun setting on one side of the campsite and the moon rising later. This is a lovely, not too hard, trip with an unforgettable view from the campsite. Bring plenty of party food to share.
