Leaving the fire trail there are a couple of steep gullies to negotiate before joining an old fire trail and then a bush track leading to the escarpment. Wildflowers are prolific and the view is spectacular. Steep rough track, slippery creek crossing, fallen trees, unfenced cliff edges. NOTE: Sections of this track have become quite overgrown. From the Little Forest car park, we follow the refurbished track out to Rusden Head. Most of the wetter areas are now boardwalked. Along the way we will visit ‘The Carriages’, a truly unusual overhang (the less agile will need to just peek in from above) with stunning views across the valley, then back to waterfalls below Porters Creek Dam.
