The Putney Punt, officially known as the Mortlake Ferry, is the only remaining car ferry in metropolitan Sydney. This walk starts at the Kissing Point Ferry wharf. A short walk takes us to the Punt. After crossing Parramatta River to Mortlake, and a short walk to Green Point, the walk continues upstream around the bays past Yaralla House, Rivendell, Concord Hospital and along the Kokoda Track walkway to Rhodes. We recross Parramatta River to Meadowbank via the John Whitton Bridge (the old rail bridge). Walkers wishing to complete the circuit can add a 2km walk to the Kissing Point Ferry. Hazards: Slippery tracks if wet, steps. Location: Parramatta River Map: Parramatta River Limit:14. T: From: 10 Jan 2022, 8:30AM |
