Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.Starting and ending at Mt Kuring-gai, includes Apple Tree Creek and Bay. There is a section of off-track walking down to Apple Tree Creek and the creek itself has no track. The creek has a gorge and waterfall, a boulder field and clear bedrock sections. The creek mouth is in a tidal mangrove at the back of Apple Tree Bay. The reward for getting through the mangroves is the coffee shop is open at the boat ramp. The return to Mt Kuring-gai is by a track that follows an old water pipe from Apple Tree Bay to the maintained track from Mt Kuring-gai to Cowan Creek. This is a short walk about 4-5 Km with 220 m ascent. Hazards: Hazards include slippery surfaces and rocks. Multiple creek crossings. High tide in mangroves.
